![]() Using Netatalk's AFP 3.3 compliant file-server leads to significantly higher transmission speeds compared with Macs accessing a server via SaMBa/NFS while providing clients. My host PC is connected to the LAN via WiFi.Īll other functionality is there I can access other computers and the internet from the guest machine. AFP Netatalk share configuration (Apple Time Machine) Netatalk is an OpenSource software package, that can be used to turn a NIX machine into an extremely high-performance and reliable file server for Macintosh computers. I specified enp0s3 as my interface (last step of the guide) which is reported as unknown if I try to ifup. The issue is that while I'm able to ping other computers of my LAN using said machine the AFP server or the netatalk service does not even start. Simply execute this command: sudo apt-get clean But remember that the cache will come back after the next update, so it’s a very temporary solution. I succesfully did this using a raspberry pi but I want to free the Pi for another job so I thought I could do the same with a VB machine. Clearing this cache may allow you to unlock a stuck Raspberry Pi due to the lack of disk space. The guide I've used is located at reddit (issue_connecting_via_netatalk_from_os_9_to ) under the VintageApple sub. I'm trying to configure an AFP server for older Macs (68k) from a Linux Mint v19 guest machine.
